In partnership with Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli, Jaguar Classic is designing new bespoke P Zero tyres that will help to enhance the performance of the vintage supercar, the XJ220.
Manufactured in the early 1990s, the XJ220 was capable of speeds over 200mph and was modelled by Jaguar's engineers to perform like the classic Le Mans cars of the 1950s and 60s, with great handling and stability at high speed.
To suit the car as much as possible, Pirelli manufacture the P Zero specifically to every car they fit it to, with the P Zero family of tyres starting back in the early 90s for the first 200-mph capable cars. This will be the start of a partnership between the two brands to fit other Jaguar classic models with better tyres.
Jaguar Classic is also announcing the Classic Ice Driving experience, which takes the driver to Arjeplog in northern Sweden – where JLR performs its winter testing – and gives them the opportunity to drive a selection of vintage Jaguar and Land Rover models.
With specialist instructors on hand to give the best experience in the classic vehicles – that don’t have modern assistance – you get the full feel of ice driving in a beautiful vehicle.
The Jaguar Land Rover Classic Ice Academy also offers ice driving in the new F-TYPE and F-PACE, with the €3,000 package including transfers from Arvidjaur Airport and two nights at the Hotel Silverhatten. The events take place in early 2017.
