Supercharged F-TYPE hits the streets
American tuning house Hennessey Performance has unveiled its latest work – a supercharged Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe.
Hennessey has upgraded the supercharger on the F-TYPE’s stock 5.0-litre V8 engine whilst also installing an improved intercooler and custom software upgrade.
The result is an 81bhp increase in power from 542bhp to 623bhp and also a boost in torque figures from 502lb ft to 568lb ft.
0-60mph times have improved as a result with the Hennessey’s F-TYPE now managing the standard bearer speed test in 3.5 seconds – more than half a second quicker than the standard model.
Developed as the true successor to the legendary E-Type, the standard F-TYPE had big shoes to fill when it was launched but it’s clear the model is a genuine successor to Jaguar’s best-loved sports car.
Featuring a 542bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine, the F-TYPE will get you from 0-62 in 4.0 seconds flat and all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph.
State of the art technology features on the F-TYPE Coupe both inside and out with Jaguar's second-generation Electronic Active Differential fitted. This works in conjunction with a brand new Torque Vectoring braking system to achieve superior agility and handling.
Built on a 100 per cent aluminium body, the F-TYPE Coupe has stayed true to its award-winning C-X 16 concept heritage and is Jaguar’s most torsionally rigid road car ever.
Inside, the cabin, like all models in the F-TYPE family, is totally driver focused thanks to features like performance seats with inflatable side-bolstering wings for extra support during high speed cornering.
On sale now, prices for the F-TYPE Coupe start at £51,250.
