Jaguar announces Heritage Challenge

Jaguar has revealed its 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge – a new historic race series that will cater purely for iconic pre-1966 Jaguar vehicles.

Building on the success of the hugely successful Jaguar E-type Challenge, the new series for pre-1966 models will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone.

Jaguar Land Rover Heritage Business Director, Derek Weale, said, “Jaguar has established a strong presence in renowned heritage car celebrations including the Mille Miglia and Goodwood Revival in recent times”.

Adding, “A single-marque race series will be an exciting addition to our plans for next year, and I look forward to meeting privateer teams that want to race Jaguar heritage sports and saloon cars in 2015.”

The Historic Sports Car Club has plans to facilitate five Jaguar Heritage Challenge races during the 2015 season – four of which will be held at UK venues with one at a yet to be revealed European circuit.

Confirmed dates, classes and race venues are to be announced soon.

In related Jaguar Heritage news, Jaguars recently formed classics division will be on display for the first time to the public at this weekend’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.

From 14th-16th November at Birmingham’s NEC, the Jaguar Heritage stand will be showcasing the future for Jaguar Heritage including the new Heritage workshop at Browns lane and the eagerly awaited Jaguar Lightweight E-type continuation model.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show also coincides with the opening of Jaguar’s Heritage Driving Experience.

Visitors to the testing facility in Fen End, Warwickshire will be able to sample the delights of such legendary cars as the D-Type, E-Type and the F-TYPE R Coupe.

Some of the vehicles will be being driven by the public for the first time ever after Jaguar’s purchase of over 500 classic British examples from a private collector.

Prices for Jaguar Experience start between £95 up to £250 for the basic package and offers passenger rides alongside professional drivers.

A newly installed branded merchandise outlet will also be on site where the recently launched Heritage ’57 Collection will be available for visitors to purchase
